WHAT DOES IT MEAN THAT THE WOMAN IS A HELP MEET?

In Genesis chapter 2:18 God said he will make for Adam a help meet for him. What does that statement mean? (Genesis 2:18 KJV) And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. Meet in this context is an adjective that means "suitable". What that scripture is saying is that God created a "help" for Adam and this helper was "meet" ( suitable, fit, proper ) for Him.

GOD MADE ADAM BOTH MALE AND FEMALE.

Image
This should be obvious but it seems a lot of people are having problem with it. God made Adam male and female. In other words, when Adam was first created he was both male and female. For people that are finding it hard to accept this is what the bible says: (Genesis 1:27 KJV) So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. (Genesis 5:2 KJV) Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam , in the day when they were created. The first scripture in using the term "them" still seem to suggest that it was talking about both Adam and Eve and not only Adam at first. However the accounts in Matthew chapter 19 and Mark chapter 10 will give more insight. (Matthew 19:3 KJV) The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? (Matthew 19:4 KJV) And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read...

DID THE BIBLE SAY IN HEBREWS 9:27 THAT ALL MEN WILL DIE AT SOME POINT?

"Hebrews 9:27 says, "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment" Does this verse state that all men at some point must die because it has been designed so? Not at all otherwise it will be contradictory as we know that at the time the Lord returns they which are alive and remain shall be caught up in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air.(1 Thessalonians 4:17). To have a better understanding of Hebrew 9:27 read  Clarke's Notes on the Bible. As it is appointed -  It is laid before them by the Divine decree: Dust thou art, and unto dust thou shalt return. Unto men generally, during the course of the present world, not all men as some falsely quote; for Enoch and Elijah have not died, and those that shall be alive at the day of judgment shall not die, but be changed. But after this the judgment -  They shall die but once, and be judged but once, therefore there is no metempsychosis, no transmigration from body to bod...

TRUE OR FALSE

It is more blessed to give than to receive” was first uttered by the apostle Paul.

THE BIBLE NEVER SAID THAT ADAM AND EVE ATE AN APPLE.

There are several things we were taught while growing up which were not exactly accurate. An example is this one that says that Adam and Eve ate an apple from the tree that God told them not to. Well the bible did not mention that it was an apple. You may need to read it yourself in Genesis 3:3 & 6. Genesis 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME: SPEAKING GOD’S WORD AND RESPONDING TO GOD’S WORD ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS.

Pastor said they are not the same. He said speaking God's word  is mainly when Satan throws thoughts at you, and circumstances raise their voices against you and you say, “It is written,” and then go ahead to say what is written. You say it exactly as it is in Scripture. Example is in Matthew 4:1-4 when Jesus responded to Satan by saying “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God”. He quoted Deuteronomy 8:3 ...... man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live . Responding to God's Word is by vocalization of your faith on the basis of what God has already said. For example, 1 John 4:4 says, “ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world .” Your response should be, “Yes, I am of God and I’ve overcome the Devil and the adversities of life, because greater is He...

WHY THE “LORD’S PRAYER” IS NOT FOR BELIEVERS TODAY.

In my earlier post I pointed out that Jesus' Prayer to the Father in John chapter 17 is more appropriate to be called "The Lord's Prayer" and not the one in Matthew chapter 6. Read it here in case you missed it. There is no record in the bible that the apostles and disciples of Jesus ever prayed this prayer in Matthew chapter 6. Here are some of the reasons why you also should not: Mat 6:9  After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Mat 6:10  Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. The fact that Jesus said, "Your kingdom come," meant that the kingdom of God had not yet come at that time. The kingdom of God has now come and once you are born again and become a child of God, you are a part of the kingdom of God. If we pray, "Your kingdom come," we are saying the kingdom has not come and we are not in it. We do not believe His Word in Colossians 1:13 which says ...

SEEING IS NOT BELIEVING RATHER BELIEVING IS SEEING

Many people often use the term " Seeing is believing ". Some even thought that the statement is in the bible. Well it is not. What people do not realize is that anytime they make that statement it is a display of faithlessness. Note that those who are controlled by their minds, who live in the realm of the senses are the ones who until they can “see” or “touch” they will not believe. To them, “seeing is believing”; but that’s not christianity and not the life we have been called to live. In Christianity,  "believing is seeing" and there are scriptures to support it. For instance   in John 20:29 Jesus said to Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. Also in  Mark 11:24  Jesus said, Th erefore  I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray,  believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.  In other words, believe and see it happen. 2 Corinthi...

IS THIS THE LORD’S PRAYER? OUR FATHER WHICH ART IN HEAVEN, HALLOWED BE THY NAME.……….

In Matthew 6:9-13 Jesus taught the people how to pray. This prayer pattern is what is generally referred to as "The Lord's Prayer." It is interesting to note that the Lord did not call it His Prayer. In fact, if any Prayer is more qualified to be referred to as “The Lord’s Prayer” it should be His personal prayer to the Father in John chapter 17: Joh 17:1  These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: Joh 17:2  As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. Joh 17:3  And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. Joh 17:4  I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. Joh 17:5   And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the worl...

WHO TOLD YOU THAT A WHALE SWALLOWED JONAH?

Do you remember the story of Jonah in the bible? We were thought that due to his disobedience to God that the Lord allowed a whale to swallow him. Well, the bible never mentioned that it was a whale that swallowed him. The Bible says that God “prepared a great fish” (Jonah_ 1:17). In the language of Jonah’s day, “great fish” could mean any large creature of the sea. In fact the Hebrew word used was the normal word for "fish". So we do not know exactly if it was a whale, an enormous shark, or some now-extinct animal that swallowed him.

MOSES WAS NOT A JEW

Here's the thing. All Jews are Israelites, but not all Israelites are Jews (Exodus 2:1-10).  Moses was an Israelite, but he was born of the tribe of Levi, not of Judah.  The original name for the Israelites was Hebrews. The Word comes from the word "eyver" which refers to "the other side" referring to the fact that Abraham came from the other side of the Euphrates. The word "Jew" is derived from the Name Judah. Today, the word "Jew" is used to refer to all of the physical and spiritual descendants of Jacob and the word "Judaism" is used to refer to their beliefs. Technically, this usage is inaccurate.

IN ISAIAH 59:19, IT IS NOT THE ENEMY THAT COMES IN LIKE A FLOOD.

Image
Most of us are familiar with this portion of the scripture:  (Isaiah 59:19 KJV)   “…… When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him . The King James Version (KJV) of the Bible seems to suggest that it is the enemy that will come in like a flood. Well the enemy is not the one that will come in like a flood rather it is the Lord that comes in like a flood (a rushing stream). The translators of King James Version of the Bible departed from the ancient versions which resulted in the misconception. The Amplified Version of the Bible puts it better: Isaiah 59:19 (AMP): So they will fear the name of the Lord from the west and His glory from the rising of the sun. For He will come in like a narrow, rushing stream which the breath of the Lord drives [overwhelming the enemy] In other words, He (Jehovah) shall come like a rushing stream which the breath of Jehovah (i.e., a strong and mighty wind) drives. It will mean that...

YOU CANNOT PRAY TO JESUS IN THE NAME OF JESUS

It does not have any spiritual meaning. This could be why most prayers are not answered. You cannot ask or pray to Jesus in the name of Jesus. Stop praying such prayers: "Jesus I come to you in the name of Jesus" You can only pray to the Father in the name of Jesus. What does it mean to pray in the name of Jesus? Praying in Jesus' name means praying with His authority. It is making a demand in His stead (place); as if He is the one making it. Authority means delegated power. You cannot exercise an authority on the same person that gave it to you. Look at it this way, you cannot go to the President of your country to make a demand in the name of that President rather you can go to another President in the name of your own President. Jesus said pray to the Father in His name: John 16:24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. Verse 26 & 27 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not...

FEMI ARIBISALA: ARE TITHERS BLESSED? JESUS PRONOUNCED WOE ON THEM FOR OMITTING THE WEIGHTIER MATTERS.

(Matthew 23:23 KJV) Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

WHEN ARE NAMES WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE?

Image
Are the names of all people  originally   written  in the Book of Life thereafter the names of those who reject Christ are removed or blotted out of it? Some teach that God is currently busy writing new names of new converts in the Book of Life. How true is this teaching? When were names written in the Book of Life? How did the names get there? The Bible does speak about the "Book of Life" in the under listed verses. The Bible also talks about not blotting people's names out of the Book of Life. Bible verses that mentioned Book of Life: Luk_10:20  Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because  your names are written in heaven . Php_4:3  And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers,  whose names are in the book of life . PASTOR PAUL ADEFARASIN'S RECENT QUOTES ON TITHING.

In his sermon on November 1, 2017 titled ‘Abraham’s Blessings Are Already Upon My Life’, Pastor Paul said that, “Tithe is a way to show that God is the supplier of your resources. God blesses and I respond with my 10%. It is an honour system, it means the money is not your God. You won’t be cursed if you don’t tithe but when you tithe you are saying you recognize Him and it keeps the cycle moving.”  He equally explained why it is important to pay tithe to ordained Men of God and that this payment is not compulsory, as it will not stop anyone from enjoying God’s blessings.  Other quotes in the sermon are highlighted below:  “He (God) did not make everyone a preacher, Don’t let anyone tell you to take your tithe to charities, elsewhere.”  “A guy can not just show up and say he is an overseer. He can’t. Overseer from where? Who is your father? Who ordained you? Where are you coming from? John Doe can not get up and say he is a pastor, there must be evidence of righte...

POWER OF THE WORD PART 2: HOW DO I DETERMINE THE WILL OF GOD?

With all that Power at our disposal, why do we often get into trouble and lead miserable lives of want and sickness? Because we use the power against ourselves. Having such power implies responsibility equal to the power. For every privilege carries responsibility. The responsibility we face in using the Power of our Word is that of choice. What are we to do?  We are using words all day long, all our life long. Learn then how to choose and use your words for that which is good. Learn how to do it consciously, time after time, with purpose aforethought, or suffer the consequences. How? We are always creating vicious circles (Evil or anything that holds us back) or benevolent ones (Good or anything that takes us forward in our search for God and anything that cooperates with life) with our words, which start with the heart at its present level, go out into the world around us by their power, come back to us as events, things, further ideas and words that build our heart with lo...

POWER OF THE WORD: THERE IS NEITHER GOOD NOR BAD LUCK IN THE UNIVERSE.

Sometimes in our lives we ask ourselves, “If God really loves us, why can’t He go ahead and bless us. After all He knows what is good for us”. This is the question I also asked until I began to understand this principle I am putting down in writing. There is neither good nor bad luck in the universe. There is law and order. God is not impartial in distribution of blessings. There are laws that must be followed. The Bible says that they that worship (follow) God must worship (follow) Him in spirit and in Truth (Spiritual Laws or Word of God) for the Father seeks such to worship Him (John4: 24). What is Spiritual Law? Now spiritual law is the Word of God. You and I and all other human beings are each an individual Word of God. We are either blessing or cursing by the Power of the Word we use. Death and Life are in the power of the words we use. We can be taken forward or held back by words, desires, thoughts, acts, and emotions. Jesus said, “By your words you will be justified,...

BIBLE QUIZ: WHAT DOES "BUT MANY THAT ARE FIRST SHALL BE LAST; AND THE LAST SHALL BE FIRST" MEAN?

Jesus said in Matthew 19:30, "But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first." He said the same thing in Matthew 20:16. What is the meaning of this statement?

THE ANOINTING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS NOT A CLOUD, A FIRE OR EVEN A DOVE.

Why did God choose to represent His Spirit with a dove? The answer—and its multilayered applications—can unlock one of the deep mysteries of our divine Helper. Perry Stone in his book "The Code of the Dove and the Holy Spirit" stated that in biblical theology, we often consider a concept known as the law of first mention. It teaches that when a person, animal, color, metal or number is first mentioned in Scripture, it often sets the theme of that particular item throughout Scripture.  He further illustrate that The anointing of the Holy Spirit is not a cloud, a fire or even a dove, but rather a divine presence whose authority is released through the mouth—through preaching, teaching, singing and prophetic utterances flowing like oil from the lips of those upon whom the Spirit has rested.   Read the code of the Dove and the Holy Spirit by Perry Stone here
