POWER OF THE WORD PART 2: HOW DO I DETERMINE THE WILL OF GOD?
With all that Power at our disposal, why do we often get into trouble and lead miserable lives of want and sickness? Because we use the power against ourselves. Having such power implies responsibility equal to the power. For every privilege carries responsibility. The responsibility we face in using the Power of our Word is that of choice.
What are we to do?
We are using words all day long, all our life long. Learn then how to choose and use your words for that which is good. Learn how to do it consciously, time after time, with purpose aforethought, or suffer the consequences.
How?
We are always creating vicious circles (Evil or anything that holds us back) or benevolent ones (Good or anything that takes us forward in our search for God and anything that cooperates with life) with our words, which start with the heart at its present level, go out into the world around us by their power, come back to us as events, things, further ideas and words that build our heart with love and limitlessness or fill with fears, hatred unhappiness limitations. Vicious circles are often started with idle words. But they count. “On the day of judgment men will render account for every careless word they utter”, said Jesus (Matthew 12:36). Benevolent circles are started either from a heart of love and wisdom, or from careful attention and purpose.
Use your Word for creative and progressive good. To be progressive and creative by your words, you should unlimit God in every way. You must not tell God what to do and how to do it. You should make the Golden rule our daily rule. See the good or beauty in life, in other people or in oneself. Every one has a great many faults. It is their job to correct them, not ours. Our job is to see the best in them. Speak no word of limitation to others or against them. Stop all form of domination, even in thoughts because your thought reaches them and does its work against them, unless they know how to protect themselves. Think people up, not down. What you sow, you also reap. That is why we cannot afford to forget the “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you” rule. For what goes out from you comes back to you. Endeavour to understand something of the nature of God. It will help you see the goodness of God. With the bible, hundreds of good books and magazines, weekly reports of science and industry and hundreds of other means of learning there is no excuse for anyone today not knowing about God.

“I can, I know, I should, I ought, and I will”; “Please” and “Thank you, sir”
Learn to depend on God. “A man whose real problem was that of indecision and plain laziness always blamed others for his failures. He said he didn’t take the job that had being found for him because it just didn’t seem to him that it was the will of God for him to work in that place”.
I cite the above case because so many people seem to be confused on the point of what is and is not the will of God. Students who are learning to use their word have hesitated and asked, “But how do I know it is right for me to ask this (the good they desire or the work they want to do) unless I first know whether or not it is the will of God?” They are overlooking the fact that they have free will, responsibility for using it, that “It is your Father’s good pleasure to give”, that “He will not give you stone when you ask of bread” and that God wins when we accept the riches of His kingdom.
The will of God is nature, the sum total of all the spiritual laws. It is not something that changes momentarily. It is not dependent upon caprice, mood wilfulness of moment or sacrifices of the petitioner. Many people suffer all their life long because they think the will of God is subject to change without notice. Everything that science discovers whether in the atom or in the farthest star, prove that all is law and order and is dependable. Every thing religion discovers proves that all is love. “All’s love, yet all’s law”. We can depend on God’s love and law.
We should not be ashamed or worried because we are not able to do mighty works with our word. The needful thing is to be headed right, learning. One of the best way to have good ideas come to us is to appreciate those of other persons. It lifts us to higher mental standing. Practice sending your fearless and encouraging thoughts to others; try to be grateful for the works others are doing. Your good thoughts sent out will be duly picked up by those in tune with them. The good eventually finds its way back to you. Please love and unlimit yourself.
