WHO TOLD YOU THAT A WHALE SWALLOWED JONAH?

Do you remember the story of Jonah in the bible? We were thought that due to his disobedience to God that the Lord allowed a whale to swallow him.

Well, the bible never mentioned that it was a whale that swallowed him. The Bible says that God “prepared a great fish” (Jonah_ 1:17). In the language of Jonah’s day, “great fish” could mean any large creature of the sea. In fact the Hebrew word used was the normal word for "fish".

So we do not know exactly if it was a whale, an enormous shark, or some now-extinct animal that swallowed him.

WHY DID JESUS CALL SIMON, PETER (ROCK)?

Most of us are very familiar with the story in Matthew chapter 16 where Jesus said that Simon, who was one of His disciples, is Peter (which means rock). The question is, why did Jesus call him Rock? (Matthew 16:18 KJV) And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  (Matthew 16:18 NLT) Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it. WHY DIDN'T JESUS TURN THE STONES INTO BREAD?

What the Devil asked of Jesus in Matthew 4:3 was something moral and there is nothing in God's law that says it would be wrong to create a meal from stones. So why didn't he turn the stone into bread? Many have taught that for anyone to be born-again or inherit eternal life, confessing, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ in accordance with Romans 10:9 and believing in his heart that God raised Jesus from the dead is all that is required. The question is, have there been people who live beyond 120 years since the pronouncement in Genesis 6:3? There are three verses that are relevant to these questions. They are:  Genesis 5:32 (NASB) - Noah was five hundred years old, and Noah became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.”  Genesis 6:3 (NASB) - Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”  Genesis 7:6 (NASB) - Now Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of water came upon the earth.  The first passage, Genesis 5:32, says that Noah was 500 years old when he became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth. THE CONCEPT OF SIN

In the New Testament, there are two key parameters for judging sin. The first one is love, the second one is faith. We will begin by taking a close look at these two parameters. DID GOD REGRET CREATING MAN IN GENESIS 6:6?

Genesis 6:6 is one of those difficult verses in the bible of which different bible commentators have varied interpretations. The verse seems to suggest that God regretted His action of creating man on earth. But how can one attribute regret to the All-Knowing God?  Genesis 6:6 (ESV) And the LORD regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart.  Genesis 6:6 (KJV) And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.  Genesis 6:6 (NASB) The LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.  The Hebrew word translated as “ regretted ” or " repented"  or " sorry"  in the above verse is yin'nā'hem , from the root word nacham .
