WHY DID GOD REST ON THE SEVENTH DAY? IS IT TIREDNESS?

I recently had a chat with a friend on a topic, "why did God rest on the seventh day? He said, "people say God created the world and rested on the 7th day, does it mean that God gets tired? Does He need a rest? Are there days He does not work? What if you are in a dire situation and prayed to Him on a day He is resting, will He answer?"

My response to my friend was that God's rest as stated in the Bible does not have anything to do with being tired. God does not get tired or weary.

(Isaiah 40:28 KJV) Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

(John 5:17 NLT) But Jesus replied, “My Father is always working, and so am I."

The Hebrew word translated as "rested" in many Versions of the Bible in Genesis 2:2 is "Shâbath (Shavat)". However, a more accurate translation of "Shavat" is "abstained" or "ceased" or "stopped". 

(Genesis 2:2 KJV) And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

(Genesis 2:2 ISV) By the seventh day God had completed the work he had been doing, so on the seventh day he stopped working on everything that he had done.

(Genesis 2:2 AMP) And by the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested (ceased) on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.

God rested in the sense that He stopped creating after a continuous six days of creating. He ceased to perform all His creative work.

WHY DID JESUS SAY HE CAME ONLY FOR ISRAEL?

Some people contend that Jesus' ministry was only for the Children of Israel and not for all mankind. To support their claim, these people are quick to cite the following verses from the New Testament:  (Matthew 15:24) He (Jesus) answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel."  (Matthew 10:5-6) These twelve (disciples) Jesus sent out with the following instructions: "Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. JESUS SAID YOU MUST BE “BORN FROM ABOVE” NOT "BORN AGAIN"?

The term " Born Again Christian " is used to describe anyone that has received Jesus Christ as his/her personal Lord and Saviour. One who believes in Jesus Christ and one who has been regenerated through the agent of the Holy Spirit. Many have taught that for anyone to be born-again or inherit eternal life, confessing, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ in accordance with Romans 10:9 and believing in his heart that God raised Jesus from the dead is all that is required. There is so much misunderstanding in the Church today regarding the gift of prophecy. Many people believe that prophecy only refers to telling something before it happens. However, even in the Old Testament, the messages of the prophets contained as much, if not more, about the present than they did about the future. In Hebrew, the word translated prophecy is based on the word stem nābā, which simply means “to speak by divine inspiration, either in prediction or simple discourse.”  “ Prophecies ” is transliterated (i.e. brought straight over from Greek to English) from the noun  prophēteia . WHY DID JESUS CALL SIMON, PETER (ROCK)?

Most of us are very familiar with the story in Matthew chapter 16 where Jesus said that Simon, who was one of His disciples, is Peter (which means rock). The question is, why did Jesus call him Rock? (Matthew 16:18 KJV) And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  (Matthew 16:18 NLT) Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it. MISINTERPRETED: ONE WILL BE TAKEN AND THE OTHER LEFT

One of the Bible verses that is most popularly misinterpreted is Matthew chapter 24 verse 40. (Matthew 24:40 KJV) Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.  Many Christians believe that the one that is taken, is the one that is raptured and taken to heaven while the one that is left is the one that is left on earth to suffer tribulation. The parable of the dishonest steward is about a steward/ manager who, knowing that his master/employer was about to dismiss him because he was unfairly enriching himself through unethical and immoral practices in the course of transacting business for his master, repented of his sin and asked the debtors to only pay what they owed his master.
