AMAZING FACTS CONNECTING ISRAEL'S FEASTS AND THE EVENTS OF THE LAST DAYS

Image
Did you know that there seems to be a connection between the Feasts instituted by God for the children of Israel and the events of the last days? Let us look at some of the amazing facts from the bible: Jesus was crucified on the Day of Preparation (i.e on Passover day which begins on the 14th of Abib/ Nisan). Jesus Himself was sacrificed as the Passover Lamb. Please note that Passover is not a Sabbath. It is the day of preparation for the High Sabbath (that is, it is the first day of the seven day Feast of Unleavened Bread). Jesus died on Passover, but was removed from the cross before sunset, which began the High Sabbath, the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. (Leviticus 23:5 KJV)  "In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD’S passover." He was in the tomb during the feast of unleavened bread. The Feast of Unleavened Bread begins on the 15th of Nisan and ends on the 21st, seven days later. The first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread is a High ...

MEDITATION: THE BIBLE WAY OF MEDITATING

Image
The concept of meditation has been mostly appropriated to other religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism and other eastern religions. Sadly, some Christians today have never practiced meditation the bible way, and typically when you ask some believers how many of them meditate on a regular basis, the answer is only a few.  There are many forms of meditations encompassing practices from different traditions, cultures, spiritual disciplines, and religions which are not in line with the concept of biblical meditation. Some of them include: Silent meditation which involves simply sitting in quiet without thoughts for anything. Calming meditation which involves focusing on a particular object which could be your breath, a mantra, a visualization without focus on God and His Word . Yoga meditation which may include sitting calmly on a rug, and/or listening to sonorous music. Biblical meditation is not even primarily for relaxation, although you may find it calming and comforting. It is...

MISINTERPRETATION: 3 JOHN 1:2 - I WISH ABOVE ALL THINGS THAT YOU MAY PROSPER IS A GREETING/PRAYER AND NOT A DECLARATION FROM GOD

Image
3 John 1:2 KJV Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. Many Christians regard the above verse as a declaration from God of His desire to financially prosper believers. While we acknowledge the bible-fact that God's plan for His children is that of good and not of evil, however, the above verse is not a sovereign declaration of Almighty God; it is rather a greeting/prayer from Paul to Gaius. The verse is never God's promise to financially prosper any believer, which has faith, in this dispensation as some profess. Paul's statement in that verse is like saying, "Hello dear, I hope all is well with you. I wish you long life, good health and prosperity as you grow in the things of the spirit'. Here are other translations for better understanding: 3 Joh 1:2 CEV Dear friend, and I pray all goes well for you. I hope you are as strong in body, as I know you are in spirit. 3 Joh 1:2 ISV Dear friend, I pray ...

DO THIS IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME: DO EXACTLY WHAT?

Image
The last supper of our Lord Jesus Christ was a passover feast on the Jewish Day of Preparation. He directed two of his disciples in the book of Luke 22:8 to go and make preparations for the passover feast by getting a room for the supper. ( Luke 22:8 KJV ) And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.  ( Luke 22:12 KJV ) And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready. In the course of the meal, Jesus gave bread and wine to his disciples to share amongst themselves and thereafter instructed them to do this in remembrance of him. The question is which of the activities did he instruct them to do in remembrance of him. Is it the celebration of the passover feast which at that point they were observing or his last supper, which was also part of his activities of the passover feast. Please note that the passover meal was usually concluded with eating the remaining portion of the unleavened flat bread (called afikomen matzah) a...

BIBLE MISINTERPRETATION: GENESIS 8:22 - SEEDTIME AND HARVEST

Image
Did you know that the bible verse in Genesis 8:22 often quoted by a lot of the gospel ministers to support giving of money, offerings and tithes has nothing to do with money? (Genesis 8:22 KJV) While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.  The statement in the verse was made by God to Noah immediately after the flood. It was made to assure Noah that He will never again destroy all life on earth by water anď that as long as the earth remains none of the following will ever cease on earth: Planting of seeds and harvesting of seeds. The four different seasons - spring, summer, fall and winter. Day and night. In other words, the natural life on earth is perpetual . I recommend you read at least the entire Genesis chapter 8 in other bible translations to better understand the context. So when next you hear the verse in connection to giving just remember the context in which God made the statement. If you l...

IS IT TRUE THAT THE SAINTS WILL NOT GO THROUGH THE GREAT TRIBULATION?

Image
So many Ministers of the gospel teach that the saints will not go through the great tribulation but rather they will be taken away to heaven before tribulation starts or at the middle of the tribulation period. So, we ask the question, is the position of these Ministers accurate? Is it true that the saints will not go through the great tribulation? To answer these questions, let us take a look at the the words of Jesus in Matthew chapter 24: (Matthew 24:6-9 KJV) And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. In this chapter 24 of the book of Matthew, Jesus gave a total description of what...

THE MARK OF THE BEAST

Image
There are two main symbols mentioned in Revelation 13:17 that are the mark of the beast and they are: The name of the beast and The number of its name (Rev 13:17 NIV)  so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name. Many Christians believe that the name of the beast and the number of its name which was later given as 666 in Revelation 13:18 are speaking of the same thing. However, a review of the scriptures indicates that they are not pointing to the same thing. The name is that of the beast while the number is that of a man . In other words, the name of the beast pertains to the beast while the number 666 (or 616 in other Bible texts) pertains to a man. Revelation 13:18 clearly stated that the number is that of a man: (Revelation 13:18 KJV) Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man ; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. ...

FACT CHECK: ARE THE TWENTY-FOUR ELDERS IN REVELATION 4:4 ANGELIC BEINGS OR HUMAN BEINGS?

Image
In the book of Revelation chapter 4, the bible made mention of twenty-four elders sitting on thrones in Heaven. Let us read the bible verses: (Revelation 4:4 KJV) And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold. (Revelation 4:10 KJV) The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Many Christians believe that these twenty-four elders are human beings. However, is this position absolutely accurate? Could these twenty-four elder be more likely angelic or heavenly beings than humans? Well, my further study of the bible indicates that they are not human beings but angelic elde...

JOHN 9:39 - DID JESUS COME TO JUDGE THE WORLD?

Image
According to John 9:39, Jesus stated that he came to judge this world. (John 9:39 KJV) And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. However in John 8:15 and 12:47 he equally stated that he came not to judge the world but to save it. John also made similar assertion in John 3:17. (John 8:15 KJV) Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man. (John 12:47 KJV) And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. (John 3:17 KJV) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. Are these statements contradictory? My answer is NO.  Jesus did not come to judge the world. The primary purpose for his first coming was to bring salvation and give eternal life to all who believes. This purpose was accomplished through his death and resurrection. So...

THE 70 WEEKS OF DANIEL CHAPTER 9

Image
The seventy "weeks" of Daniel is about the prophecy given by angel Gabriel to Daniel in chapter 9 of the book of Daniel in verses 24-27 in respect of the people of Israel and Jerusalem. The seventy "weeks" is otherwise known as seventy "sevens" or 490 days (i.e. 70 multiplied by 7 days). In using the year-for-a-day principle of the scriptures for its interpretation, each day represents a year which means the 490 days represent 490 years.  Now, let us take step by step review of all aspects of this prophecy. (Daniel 9:24-27 KJV) Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. vs 25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall...

THE MEANING OF "THE KINGDOM OF GOD" SUFFERETH VIOLENCE"

Image
Jesus said in Matthew 11:12,  "And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force." It simply means that from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of God is as though being taken by storm by those pressing to obtain a blessing and those who make forceful [ violent ] attempts, take the blessings. WHY GOD HARDENED PHARAOH'S HEART

Image
In the book of Exodus chapter 4 verse 21, God said He would harden Pharaoh's heart so that he would not let the people of Israel leave Egypt. Let's read the passage: (Exodus 4:21 KJV) And the LORD said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart , that he shall not let the people go. The questions many have asked are: Why did God harden Pharaoh's heart?  Is it not unjust for God to harden Pharaoh’s heart and still punish him and Egypt for what he decided when his heart was hardened?  Would God hold Pharaoh accountable for his sins seeing that He is the one that hardened his heart? The answer to these questions can be found in God's own words in Exodus chapters 3 & 7: (Exodus 3:8 KJV) And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a la...

IS THERE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BEING CLEANSED AND BEING MADE WHOLE?

Image
Many Christians believe that the word translated “whole” in Luke 17:19 KJV refers to both physical and spiritual healing and that the nine lepers  in the chapter received only physical healing because they did not return to give thanks to Jesus where as the leper that returned to give thanks to Jesus received both physical and spiritual healing. They believe all the lepers were cleansed but the one that returned to Jesus got something extra which is that he was made whole (i.e his limbs which may have been lost or deformed as a result of the leprosy were restored or that he got salvation for his soul). Though this may be true, there's however a more likely possibility that the leper did not get something more than the rest of the nine. Let's first read the story: (Luke 17:12-19 KJV) And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. And when h...

JESUS SAID MAKE FRIENDS OF THE MAMMON OF UNRIGHTEOUSNESS. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

Image
In the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible, it is stated that Jesus told his disciples to make friends of the mammon of unrighteousness after narrating the parable of the dishonest Steward. What does this statement mean (Luke 16:9 KJV) And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations. The statement simply means that you should use worldly wealth to make friends. A better rendering of the verse would include the word "out" and the word "ye" replaced by "it" as shown below: And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends, [out] of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye [it] fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations. Some other versions of the bible give clearer understanding  of the verse. Here are some examples: (Luke 16:9 BSB) I tell you, use worldly wealth to make friends for yourselves, so that when it is ...

WHY DID THE MASTER COMMEND THE DISHONEST STEWARD IN LUKE 16:8?

Image
The parable of the dishonest steward is about a steward/ manager who, knowing that his master/employer was about to dismiss him because he was unfairly enriching himself through unethical and immoral practices in the course of transacting business for his master, repented of his sin and asked the debtors to only pay what they owed his master. Let's read the passage in the bible. (Luke 16:1-8) And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had squandered [wasted] his goods. And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward. Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed. I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses. So he called every one of his l...
