IS HOMOSEXUALITY A SIN?

This is a question that many people tend to avoid for fear of offending some other people. For a Christian however, the Bible clearly provides the right answer to the question. Therefore, there should not be further search for answers or anymore debate on it. The answer can be found in the following verses:

(Leviticus 18:22 NLT) “Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin.

(Romans 1:27 NLT) "And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved."

(1 Corinthians 6:9-10 NLT) "Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God."

There is so much misunderstanding in the Church today regarding the gift of prophecy. Many people believe that prophecy only refers to telling something before it happens. Many Christians thought that Jacob worked seven years for Laban, realized that Laban deceived him to marry Leah, and then worked seven more years before finally getting married to Rachel. However the bible shows that he took both Leah and Rachel immediately before he began serving Laban. For clarity, I advise you to read this Jacob's story in other translations of the Bible aside King James Version (KJV). Meanwhile lets look at look at some of the facts from the Bible: (Genesis 29:21 KJV) And Jacob said unto Laban, Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may go in unto her. Please note that the 7 years of service required of Jacob were the total dowry and not the customary waiting period before a wife was given to the groom. WERE JESUS AND JOHN THE BAPTIST COUSINS?

(Luke 1:36 KJV) And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. The King James Version (KJV) of the above verse seems to suggest that Mary, the mother of Jesus and Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist were cousins. It is worthy to note that the Hebrew language has no word for cousin. The word translated cousin in the above verse is from the Greek word, suggenes which has same meaning as countryman, kinswoman, relative, one of the same race.  Also note that the word "cousin" used to mean any relative in the 17th century when the KJV was written. WHY DID GOD REST ON THE SEVENTH DAY? IS IT TIREDNESS?

I recently had a chat with a friend on a topic, "why did God rest on the seventh day? He said, "people say God created the world and rested on the 7th day, does it mean that God gets tired? Does He need a rest? Are there days He does not work? What if you are in a dire situation and prayed to Him on a day He is resting, will He answer?" My response to my friend was that God's rest as stated in the Bible does not have anything to do with being tired. God does not get tired or weary. (Isaiah 40:28 KJV) Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. DID JESUS ASCEND TO HEAVEN TWICE?

The question of Jesus ascending twice to heaven is not often asked because there is this general acceptance of only one ascension of Jesus which occurred in Acts 1:9, Mark 16:19 and Luke 24:51 (Acts 1:9 KJV) And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. (Mark 16:19 KJV) So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. (Luke 24:51 KJV) And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven. However, there is an evidence in the Bible that He had earlier ascended to His Father in Heaven prior to this final ascension in the above verses.  Before His death, Jesus specifically told His disciples in the book of John chapter 16 that He would be going to His Father (which is in Heaven). WHY DID JESUS CALL SIMON, PETER (ROCK)?

Most of us are very familiar with the story in Matthew chapter 16 where Jesus said that Simon, who was one of His disciples, is Peter (which means rock). The question is, why did Jesus call him Rock? (Matthew 16:18 KJV) And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  (Matthew 16:18 NLT) Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it. Before we answer the question, it is of note that there are many Believers and non Believers alike, who do not accept Peter as the Rock. DOES MATTHEW 11:11 MEAN JOHN THE BAPTIST IS GREATER THAN MOSES AND THE PROPHETS YET THE "LEAST" IN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS GREATER THAN HIM?

The Lord Jesus declared in Matthew 11:11, "Verily I say unto you, among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he".  Does this mean John the Baptist is greater than Moses and the Prophets or is there a deeper meaning here? Who is this "least" in the kingdom of heaven that is greater than John the Baptist?  Let's take a second look at the first part of the verse: Verily I say unto you, among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist. The statement simply means no Prophet has risen above John the Baptist. He was to be ranked equal to any Prophet (or human being) in terms of work and energy. He is not less distinguished than the other Prophets.
