WHAT DOES BLASPHEMY AGAINST THE HOLY SPIRIT MEAN?

The phrase “blasphemy against the Holy Spirit” is found in Matthew 12:31-32, Mark 3:28-29 and Luke 12:10.

(Matthew 12:31-32 KJV) Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. 

(Mark 3:28-29 KJV) Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation: 

(Luke 12:10 KJV) And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven. 

The word translated blasphemy or blaspheme is from the Greek blasphēmia (from blasphemos), which denotes abusive; evil speaking; injurious expressions; to vilify; specially, to speak impiously against God. In the bible, evil speaking against God includes attributing the power of God (Holy Spirit) to oneself or Satan as read in John 10:33 and Mark 3:30.

(John 10:33 KJV) The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

(Mark 3:29-30 KJV) But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation: Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

To blaspheme against the Holy Spirit therefore means to attribute the power of the Holy Spirit to Satan (unclean spirit) or to reject or deny the power or authority of God even when we know His power and sovereignty. Notice how this understanding fits with Jesus’ introductory comment just before He discusses blaspheming against the Holy Spirit in Luke 12:8-9.

(Luke 12:8-9 KJV) Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God. 

It is also a conscious and hardened opposition to the truth, "because the Holy Spirit is truth" (1 John 5:6). Read WHY BLASPHEMY AGAINST THE HOLY SPIRIT IS UNPARDONABLE

WHY DID JESUS SAY HE CAME ONLY FOR ISRAEL?

Some people contend that Jesus' ministry was only for the Children of Israel and not for all mankind. JESUS SAID YOU MUST BE “BORN FROM ABOVE” NOT "BORN AGAIN"?

The term " Born Again Christian " is used to describe anyone that has received Jesus Christ as his/her personal Lord and Saviour. There is so much misunderstanding in the Church today regarding the gift of prophecy. Many people believe that prophecy only refers to telling something before it happens. However, even in the Old Testament, the messages of the prophets contained as much, if not more, about the present than they did about the future. In Hebrew, the word translated prophecy is based on the word stem nābā, which simply means “to speak by divine inspiration, either in prediction or simple discourse.”  “ Prophecies ” is transliterated (i.e. brought straight over from Greek to English) from the noun  prophēteia . DOES THE BIBLE STATE THAT THE WORD "LUCIFER" IS THE NAME OF THE DEVIL?

The word lucifer is used only once in the English Bible and it is in Isaiah 14:12. Isaiah 14:12: “ How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!" It is from the Latin term lucem ferre , which literally means “bringer, or bearer of light, the shining one, the son of the dawn, the morning star (the star we now know by another Roman name, Venus). The morning star appears in the heavens just before dawn, heralding the rising sun. Isaiah is using this metaphor for a bright light, though not the greatest light to illustrate the apparent power of the Babylonian king which then faded." WHY DID JESUS CALL SIMON, PETER (ROCK)?

Most of us are very familiar with the story in Matthew chapter 16 where Jesus said that Simon, who was one of His disciples, is Peter (which means rock). The question is, why did Jesus call him Rock? (Matthew 16:18 KJV) And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  (Matthew 16:18 NLT) Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it. Many have taught that for anyone to be born-again or inherit eternal life, confessing, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ in accordance with Romans 10:9 and believing in his heart that God raised Jesus from the dead is all that is required. (Rom 10:9-10)  “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. IN WHAT SENSE IS JESUS THE SON OF GOD?

By revelation, we know and believe that Jesus is the Son of God, the Creator of heaven and earth. In other words, the Almighty God is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. The question that many ask is, "if God does not have a wife, how is Jesus His Son?"  This question comes from the expectation that for one to be called a son, there must be a process of conception; i.e the process of becoming physically pregnant and child birth. Therefore, they say, since God has no wife, Jesus could not have been the Son of God. So we ask the question, in what sense then is Jesus the Son of God? Is He the Son of God the same way Adam was called the son of God in the book of Luke?  (Luke 3:38 KJV) Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God .
