WAS JESUS CRUCIFIED ON A CROSS OR TREE?

In the English Bible, several verses stated that Jesus was crucified on a cross, yet several others stated that it was on a tree. Which one is it? (Mark 15:21 KJV) And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross . (Matthew 27:40 KJV) And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross . (Genesis 1:10 KJV) And God called the dry land Earth ; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good . So since the earth was orig
